This is just really to discuss what would the rest of the country that is left be called.
Apparently the reason we are the United Kingdom is it was the Union of the crowns of two Kings - two Kingdoms, Scotland and England.
So, if Scotland left, there would be no United Kingdom.
Wales is apparently a "Principality" (correct me if I am wrong) and I believe Ireland may have been taken over by England way back centuries ago. Eire (southern Ireland ?) has since gained Independence but Northern Ireland remained in the UK. Both Wales and Northern Ireland also have their own parliaments much like Scotland has at the moment, so they also have a certain amount of self governance at the moment.
Why does England not want self governance...?
And if Scotland became Independent what would the remainder be called ? And what would its flag be ?
