Keeping The Pound / What happens in Crown Dependencies like Jersey / Isle of Man

The Pound - or Not !

Well firstly I am not convinced that keeping the pound is necessarily a good thing. Look what has happened with the Euro - Germany is happy, Greece is the opposite - this is what can happen when two very different economies are tied to one currency.  However with the oil money, Scotland could well be on an equivalence with England.  But, London is pulling away from the rest of the country and the rest of the country is suffering.

With regards to whether we could keep the pound - why not !?
Jersey is a Crown Dependency and has its own Jersey Pound which is in a currency union with the UK.

The Isle of Man is a self governing Crown Dependency
It also has the Manx Pound and you can use Pound Sterling as well.

There is also the question of our investments / debts in England and rest of UK...
If we take the pound we also take a share of our debt. But then we should also get our share of investments we have built up by being part of UK / Commonwealth - we have invested in many buildings in London and should get to retain a share.
